Scope of Work:

• To co-ordinate on behalf of Irrigation Department, Punjab with the Federal Flood Commission, Pak Army, NDMA,PDMA, NDRMF, etc
• To monitor flood preparedness activities of pre-flood, during flood and post flood seasons
• To monitor the activities of Flood Warning Centre during flood season i.e. from 15th June to 15th October
• To recommend measures to cope with the emergent flood situations
• To act as Provincial Project Coordinator for Normal / Emergent Flood Programme under PSDP and NDRMF
• Regulation of Punjab Canals
• Implementation of Indus Waters Treaty 1960
• Implementation of Water Apportionment Accord 1991
• Operation of defense canals under War Book
• To protect rights of Punjab share of water
